Land Purchase in Romania

During the summer of 2001, a 20-acre plot of land in Northern Romania was donated to the charity and this resulted in a whole new approach to the aid work about which you will read about on other pages. Having a base in Romania will allow greater control over costs and aid distribution. Currently all aid consignments must receive Customs clearance at the office of a partner charity in Arad. Having offices in Romania will allow aid to be received directly and will thus save a 100 mile round trip journey which currently costs £70 and 12 man-hours to complete. It would cost just £3 per week to run a soup kitchen in the village during the harsh winter months, which could again be operated, from the office in the summer camp.
