Westhoughton Community Learning Centre is a part of Bolton Community College and is situated on Central Drive. We have recently had a major extension to the building and are currently installing a new hair and beauty salon for training.
The Centre offers a whole range of training courses and activities from Computing and I.T. to Soft Furnishings and Coookery. We specialise in OCNW Access courses offering an opportunity for adults to gain qualifications that will improve employment propspects and in some areas lead to higher level qualifications and career based learning. Courses include Teaching, Social Work, Nursing and Health Studies.
The Centre opens Monday to Friday 9.30 a.m.- 9.00 p.m. and Saturday mornings, has a fully registered creche for under fives available for all daytime provision and has a smart Cafe providing light refreshments throughout the day.
Classes come in a range of subject some with accreditation, other without, and are suitable for all ages and abilities. The building has disabled access and offers some car parking, especially for the disabled.
The new building offers a state of the art I.T suite with a whole range of multimedia and creative I.T courses, new purpose built classrooms and a beautifull new childcare centre for under fives. New Offices and outdoor play areas are also provided.
