“cool as folk”
 | In an age where computer technology is taking over the world , Barnet Folk Club has its feet firmly on the ground. This evening was to me what Folk Music is all about.
As usual we had our regular audience of more than 50 people of all ages.
I started the evening with a nautical theme, as it was Trafalgar day . I dedicated a song to all the sailors who took part in the battle of Trafalgar. Then the floor was open to the night’s performers:
To me, the word “Folk” is more than just the music, it is about the people. This is our music and and our chance to entertain each other, perhaps the way they did many moons ago.
Nine year old Lydia played the fiddle wonderfully, and Keith was equally entertaining on his Celtic harp. Despite there being an age gap, everyone was up for it! All the singers and players were on top form.
Thank you “One and All” for a great evening!
