We're Salt & Pepper Potty!
Welcome to the British Novelty Salt & Pepper Collectors' Club
(the BNSPCC for short)
We are a non profit making club for collectors of novelty salt & pepper pots, cruets, shakers or whatever you like to call them. We produce a quarterly newsletter containing articles, prize competitions, questions & answers, sales & wants etc. We have also commissioned special limited edition 'members only' sets, including the wonderful 'alien & UFO' that was made to celebrate the millennium. Club meetings are held up to four times a year. We are hoping to start up local groups in some areas if there is sufficient interest. Our Chairman, Peter Bayman (also known as The Salt & Pepper Man) is a well known speaker on our hobby in North London and the surrounding areas. He can be contacted through this site by any group interested in an informative and amusing talk. Peter has appeared Channel 4 TV, ITV1 and BBC2 talking about his collection, as well as in the press. Some of our members in other parts of the country also give talks from time to time. In the summer of 2000, Peter and his wife had an exhibition of their collections at the Church Farmhouse Museum in Hendon, North London. The exhibition was entitled 'We Are Totally Potty!' and featured both salt & pepper sets and novelty teapots. This exhibition broke the summer attendance record for the museum, with some people paying up to five visits, bringing different friends and relatives with them on each visit. He has also held exhibitions in Potters Bar and Ware in Hertfordshire. We are sometimes able to assist people who have sets or collections that they wish to dispose of, either by publicising them for sale to our members or by giving free advice on other methods of selling. Use the Mail Form contact to ask us about this - not the message board or guestbook please. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who wishes to contact us for information, advice or with a view to joining our club. Again, please use the Mail Form.
We currently no longer have a website but this may change again in the future.

Did you see our Club Chairman on Flog It!
 | | In October 2004, the Chairman of our Club, Peter, appeared on the BBC2 show Flog It! from the City of Chester, long time home of the British salt industry. Peter was interviewed by the show's presenter Paul Martin and showed some of his collection. |
