DAY CENTRE PROJECT
The Central Africa's Rights & AIDS (CARA) Society is an international organisation dedicated to promoting the health, education and social development of all of its members and the public by improving the quality of life of the disadvantaged and excluded people in Hackney and the surrounding areas and helping them to know and achieve their rights. This includes providing advice and representation, information and signposting in areas covering welfare benefits, employment, housing and health. We seek to: *Raise awareness of education, training and employment opportunities *Provide access to translation and interpretation facilities *Support neighbourhood initiatives, community development and regeneration *Promote racial harmony *Raise awareness of, and support issues around, mental and physical health *Provide access to recreation and leisure facilities for people in need.
We are asking for any donation to help us to raise £100,000 p.a. to help towards the running costs of our Day Centre Project and to pay a full-time volunteer support worker who has been co-ordinating, supporting the volunteers and ensuring that administrative requirements are fully met. |
