Welcome to Chandos Choir!

About the Choir

One of the older choirs in the South East, The Chandos Choir was formed over 57 years ago. (Legend has it, we were formed in a disused or derelict cowshed.. ) With members' ages ranging from 30 to 80, we are a lively and friendly choir, and always on the look-out for new members to join us, in all voice-parts.
We have a membership of about 32 at present, and would like to increase so that we can sing more large choral works. Our conductor is Jo Richards. We do not have auditions, but request that members are reasonably good at sight-reading. We meet at Coulsdon Methodist Church Hall, Brighton Road, Coulsdon on MONDAY nights at 7.45pm, and close at 9.55pm with a break for coffee (and cakes) part-way through. Previous concerts include: Byrd's Mass for Four Voices; Poulenc's Gloria; Durufle Requiem, Beethoven Mass in C; Palestrina and Mozart; Puccini's Messa di Gloria with opera choruses, Parry's I Was Glad & Blest Pair of Sirens, Mozart's Mass in C, Brahms Requiem, Fauré Requiem and Kodály Missa Brevis.
