Last Christmas I was entertaining our senior citizen’s at a Battersea
Sheltered housing complex and having a great time when I was brought back down to earth with the biggest bump I have had for along time a little frail old lady sat in the corner on her own with good ol cockney music playing in the background I asked her for a dance she declined my offer she said I would love to but I can’t
I sat down next to her and asked why’s that then dear this was her reply in her own words and they have infected me ever since
She said to me believe me dear two years ago I was has big as you
And life and soul of the party but my life change when I went to
Collect my pension which I have done every week with no problem until this day when my whole world went out of the window I way just a couple of yards from the local post office when I was approached by two youth’s who then grab my hand bag blood drained from me but not content with just my bag one of the lads
Punched me in the face and I fell to the ground and the the two of them repeatedly punched and kicked me till I was unconscious the next thing I knew was waking up I hospital with a broken jawbone cracked ribs and fractured hip she then started to cry  why do people do this they had my bag why beat me up I ‘ve done nothing to them they got away with it but iam a prisoner now im to afraid to go out and I cant walk without my walking sticks  ive lost 9 stone down to worry why o why what did I do wrong  sweet f.a
This women going about her business brutally attacked for her pension money what kind of a world do we live in I got up and walked away after saying all the sorry’s I could think of but not really changing any thing at all for this old  girl the bastards got away with it as well perhaps to do it again my blood began to boil
What could I do im no superman I dress in pearl buttons and can’t fly but I felt something at to be done for our senior citizens but what
Weeks past but with this sad event etched in my head I came up with an idea which I think may help a little to increase the possibility of that kind of attack not happening again
A free dial a ride service and now the idea has become a dream
Which I want to turn into realattly with your help
What do you mean free dial a ride service
I would like to set a service for our senior citizens so they can a feel bit safer and give them more quality of life in general the aim is to collect enough money to sponcer an ex London taxi and in the future more and more how will it work
This service will be available to homes’clubs and groups
Who will have to register free of charge a regerstration number will be issued which wii have to be quoted when booking  the service will only be for senior citizens who will be escorted to the their destination and returned to their point of pick up in safty and will be on a pre-booking telephone basis the service will be set up to take the senior citizens to the post office for pension collections-hospital or doctor appointments-local shopping trips-dinner clubs-social clubs
This idea can work but it needs your support all monies collected will make a difference
