Fairlop Plain Under Threat

Developers had planned to put the London City Racecourse on Fairlop Plain but this was turned down by the Secretary of State as it would have considerably reduced the openness of this Green Belt site.
Despite this, there is still a need to consult the public over its "preferred use" for the site. CPRE London North East surveyed local people and found that there was quite a range of opinions over how the site could be improved. Many wanted it to become a protected wildlife site. All opinions have been forwarded to Redbridge Borough Council.
