GARDEN INSECTS

There are numerous insects that visit the garden throughout the year, far too many to list all of them. Some, which are either classed as ‘friends or foe’, are already shown on a page with that name - which can be accessed from the side menu. If you click on the link below you will find photographs and information on yet more insects that may visit your garden, some which are beneficial and others that are definitely pests. In the case of the mosquito there are many species that frequent the British Isles. In recent years, with the ease and speed of travel to foreign shores, these pests seem to be spreading across the globe carrying with them the serious diseases and viruses that up till now did not affect us to any great extent. With the changes that are occurring in global temperatures these insects could become a serious, and potentially life threatening problem.
