An International weekend of dance is held at Cecil Sharp House in October each year.
This is a Festival of Traditional Dance, which includes any dance form that acts as a cultural signature for a region or community. Typically it has it's roots in history. There are many different styles presented, including The U.K., Europe, Egypt, Asia, Africa, South Africa, The Caribbean and South America.
There are many demonstrations and workshops. It is an event of great fun, providing opportunities for learning, performing or just watching dance.
There will be another festival at Cecil Sharp House in October 2006.
