Annual General Meeting held 27th November 2000
At Methodist Church Hall, Ashford

MINUTES
In Attendance 8 Members

The Chairman, Peter spoke about the club to date and hopes for the future. In the main, we need more members, a few words were spoken about the passing away of Cicely, a nice lady and very helpful. Notes were taken regarding next years programme.

The Secretary/Treasurer Joyce handed out the Balance Sheet for the period 1.4.00 – 30.11.00 and stated the subscriptions will remain at £14 per person for next year. The Hall will be booked for 8 meetings, which will take us up to 31.5.01.

With change of venue and year and 3rd Officers there are small changes to the rules. (Please see attached) Equipment remains the same.

Voting on several items were as shown below

Proposal 1 To change from 2 Officer to 3
i) Chairman
ii) Secretary/Treasurer
iii) Promotions/Publicity Officer
Vote All in favour

Proposal 2 Nominations for those offices
i) Chairman - Peter
ii) Secretary/Treasurer - Joyce iii) Promotions/Publicity Officer - Paul
Vote In favour. All nominees accepted.

Proposal 3 Demonstration of creating a bonsai and disposal of same
Vote 6 in favour of ‘c’ Individual Sponsorship of the demonstration by a member
Motion carried.


The Secretary/Treasurer will claim £10 for Telephone calls annually agreed by members present. The Promotions/Publicity Officer – Paul suggested members show a different variety of tree each month. Also we have a beginners meeting in February.

The committee members will meet to plan the plan the programme for the first 6 months of 2001.

We hope that our numbers will grow next year.
