It’s official! St Peter’s is a Fair Trade Parish
Through the hard work of Tricia Donovan running regular stalls, through the use of fairly traded refreshments, and the promotion of events explaining and publicising fair trade issues, we’ve been acting as a Fair Trade Parish for a long time now. Southwark is aiming to become a Fair Trade Diocese too.
You could help Fair Trade go further by introducing the Fair Trade Habit at your work or school.
Perhaps you could organise a Traidcraft Tea Break there in Fair Trade Fortnight next February.
Let Tricia Donovan know if you need any help and she will be happy to assist. Send us an e/mail and we’ll get the message through. |

The Fair Trade Movement has grown so much in the last few years and does so much good - isn’t it great to think St Peter’s is part of it?
Just to remind ourselves.....
Traidcraft is a Christian response to poverty, established in 1979 to fight poverty through trade. It seeks to break the cycle of poverty and despair by helping people to help themselves. Poor people have skills and ability but often lack opportunity. Helping someone get engaged in trade and gain their fair share of the benefits offers a route to a brighter future for them, their families and their communities. |
