A recent survey of men and women (age 24 - 38) in London has found that 63% of women and 51% of men would like to meet new people in the capital for friendship and socialising with 89% of all surveyed agreeing that without an existing network of friends, London could be a ‘hostile’ city with it being difficult to be able to meet new likeminded people by chance and make new friends easily.
With support and funding from The Prince's Trust, London social club www.thesocialservice.com has launched to provide people with an easier way to simply meet new people face-to-face (in groups) and make new friends to socialise and enjoy the Capital with.
With it being free to become a member, the aim of www.thesocialservice.com is to connect users with like minded groups of others and the people that they specifically want to meet in London. Therefore, as well as offering people the chance to sign up and join in on pre-organised Socials such as meals out, drinks, cinema/theatre trips, parties etc., users are encouraged to let them know exactly what they want to do and what specific groups of people they want to meet in London. eg. others in their late 30s and 40s, other fans of Japanese culture, opera fans in Kensington etc.
By letting all registered users know what others want to do and who they want to meet and continually asking for feedback, www.thesocialservice.com then aims to connect the like minded groups and organise the Socials at which they can meet!
It is an organic service with it's growth and direction being determined by those who choose to use it.
