Time to Dance scooped several medals
 | Local Dance School Time to Dance scooped several medals at the London Area National Association of Teachers of Dance, Ballroom and Latin American Dance Competition. Held on Sunday 14th May 2006 at the Crawley K2 centre. Hundreds of entrants turned out, aged from 4 to 80 years of age, all competing for medals in numerous grades and dances. The day flowed along at a pace with compare Len Goodman from BBC Strictly Come Dancing, starting at 9am with the 12/13 yrs Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba and Jive with over 92 different events, including team events. The day finished around 9:30pm with Presentations of the final dances. Time to Dance were amongst 14 other dance clubs and studio’s, with only 10 members to their team they were one of the smallest to enter, some teams were 50 or 60 strong, but that didn’t put them off. Theresa Jordan their Dance Teacher and club owner led them to quite some success. Top honours went to Keith Hughes with his 1st place in the over 50’s Pre-Bronze Men’s Cha-Cha-Cha assisted by his partner and wife Janet. Both came 2nd in the Waltz and Quickstep, and 7th in the Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba & Rumba. Janet came 4th in the over 50’s Silver Ladies Jive. Peter Goddard came 2nd in the over 50’s Pre-Bronze Men’s Cha-Cha-Cha assisted by Theresa, Peter Goddard & his dancing partner Jackie Verndonck came 3rd in the Waltz & Quickstep, Jackie was 5th in the Jive dancing with Theresa, Pat Read came 4th in the Over 50’s Cha-Cha-Cha dancing with Theresa and Pauline Woodhouse came 5th in the over 50’s Cha-Cha-Cha borrowing Maggie’s husband Paul to partner her. Maggie Meigh came 6th in the 35-39 Jive and Husband Paul came 5th in the Men’s Jive, Paul & Maggie came 6th in the 35-39 Waltz & Quickstep, Chris Attfield & Pat Read were placed 3rd in the all Ladies Waltz & Quickstep.Overall a good result for the club. Time to Dance run several classes in the local area Monday nights at Warlingham Church Hall, Wednesday afternoon Tea dance, children’s class and evening session at St Swithuns Church Hall, Grovelands Rd, Purley and Friday afternoon and evenings at St Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Warren Park Warlingham also once a month Saturday evening dance.
