March 2001

Sunday 18th March 2001 - We all turned up at Downview prison in order to support the Prison Chaplain at the Sunday morning service. Unfortunately the level of security had been increased, as a result of an incident at the prison. This meant that we now needed to be security cleared (in advance) and no one had let us know.

The duty Governor apologised but could not let us in without having had the security clearances. O.K. so it was a shame for us having got there, but worse for the prisoners who look forward to the liveliness we bring to the services.

With any luck, we will set another date in the next few weeks to go back to the prison.

April 2001

We went to the Children's Trust Tadworth, after having been invited to the Trust.

June 2001

2nd and 3rd June saw what we had been working towards for a long time - we went into the studio for two days recording. For most of us, it was the first time we had been into the studio and we were helped a lot by Mike, a friend of Andy's, who was the engineer.

We managed to pay for this from the donations we had received from various sources and from our own pockets.

We managed to record seven songs. Mike was impressed by our discipline and the practice we had put in.

We plan to go back into the studio again, in the Autumn, to re-record some bits and record a few more tracks to allow us to produce our own CD. This we can use to give to the prisoners and as a demo for people who are thinking about booking us.

Last September saw a big change for ToF!, with founder members Chris and Jan leaving the band. It was a big change for us, but we prayed to find out what God had in mind for us.

His message was for us to continue and so we recruited new members. In February 2002. we got back together again, having taken a few month sabbatical, and although it felt strange at first, we have gradually developed ToF!

We now have a very different repertoire of songs and are busy booking dates for the coming months.

July 2002

Having rehearsed hard since February, we are taking a summer break, with a number of events planned for the Autumn. It's important that we can give God our best all of the time.

May 2008

We were asked to lead the worship at St. Michael's Ashtead for Pentecost Sunday. being called Tongues of Fire! made it a special day for us.

We recorded the service (as we do all services) and hope to make this available.
