Cafe-style worship services
 | Being an ecumenical band, we have found that eucharistic services can emphasise the differences between the Christian traditions. We have found that it is better to focus on what unite us (which is most things!), rather than on what does not.
That is why we have developed our own version of Cafe-style worship, which is a praise and worship service usually held in a church hall (rather than in the church pews).
It's a more relaxed environment and the service can be more 'free' and a bit more flexible than a usual Sunday morning service. We have led such a service in Stoneleigh Methodist church and St Michael's Catholic church, Ashtead.
It's a great way of bringing Christians from different traditions together, in a way where the service builds bridges and bonds between those who attend.
At Stoneleigh in 2003, the theme was repentance.

The return of the King
 | At St. Michaels in July 2004, the theme was 'The return of the King', which included a talk about the Christian themes running through JRR Tolkein's classic 'The Lord of the Rings'.
The next event was planned for St. Michael's, Ashtead again in November 2004 (National Youth Sunday) and the theme was 'The Gospel according to the Simpsons'. This looked at Christian themes running through the popular animated series, what we can learn from it and how we can use it as a tool for evangelisation! (And you thought it was just an American cartoon!)

Cracking Da Vinci's code
 | | The next cafe-style worship service was at St Michael's, Ashtead in November 2005. The theme was Cracking Da Vinci's code and was about a Christian response to many of the damaging points brought out across in Dan Brown's book. |

Cafe Worship - "And lead us not into temptation"
 | | February 2006 - the first Cafe Worship service at All Saints, West Ewell Church. We were asked to lead the service. |

Cafe Worship - Northway Evangelical church, Oxford
 | Proof that the internet can be a force for good! We were tracked down by Peter from the church in Headington, Oxford via this site! We led a first Cafe Worship service at the church in March 2006.
If you would like to talk to us about ToF! leading/helping you to hold such a service, please contact us. |
