2001/02
After a disappointing first season, Walthamstow Avenue have a point to prove in 2001/02. Training has gone very well and although they've failed to pick up any points from their first two games, moral and optimism for the season ahead are still high.
The squad progressed very well after a poor start last season to produce some solid and rewarding displays. A run of unlucky results and injuries stopped them climbing off the bottom of the league which has made the players even more determined to improve this season.
Pre-season friendlies gave them a chance to try out some new players as well as trying out some different formations. An encoraging 2-0 win over London Intermediate League new boys, Waltham Abbey the highlight of the three matches. They also gained some plus points from the other two matches although the results didn't go their way.
