General Information
Swimming Coaches:
Currently, the Club has several Coaches led by Chief Coach, Mr Mike Bush and Assisted by Mr Steve Turner.
A number of Coaches at various stages of educational and skill level are available for the different teaching elements within the Club. Poolside helpers assist these.
The Chief Coach makes swimming level assessments for correct grading of swimmers coming from outside as potential club members
Galas and Training Camps
Periodically, you will be expected to compete for the Club or as an individual in Open Galas. These are areas where team competitiveness comes into play, and whether there are points or individual awards are to be had, there is great satisfaction in just competing as a Club member.
Fixture lists of galas throughout the year are posted on the Club Board at either the Pool & Track, on Monday and Friday or, at the College.
Often, training camps in the U.K. or in warmer climates outside the U.K. are arranged for swimmers of specific levels. In all instances, the Chief Coach will provide details of any known trips and events.
Parents and Guardians
Parents and Guardians are reminded that they should not feel left out. There is always room for more people to help run our own galas and events during the year. As you can well appreciate, it takes a lot of organising to hold events and lots of people. If you would like to offer assistance, in any capacity, no matter how small, please come to the desk on Monday or Friday to put your name forward. Every little helps.
