Old photographic memories

Do you remember a lady called Elizabeth Webb who entertained troops in the Comwel Div in early 1953 ? I wonder where she is now. Answers to the webmaster please.

Some more entertainers

There were several entertainers who came out to keep us smiling and they were made very welcome. Carol Carr for one.

And yet more

Does anybody remember these performers ?

Keeping vehicles from freezing up

This is a Diamond T recovery vehicle being kept warmed up, to stop it from freezing (even with anti-freeze in!) using two petrol heater units supplying hot air to the radiator via long flexible ducts.

Imjim River

Who said the Imjim never froze over?

DDT Spraying

DDT has for some time been considered to be quite bad for one's health. Did it affect us I wonder?

Ship Inn NAAFI Roadhouse

This place was a watering hole for any passing UN Forces and situated near the 38th papallel. It was staffed by Naafi personnel who wore a RASC cap badge.

New Zealand concert party

Does anyone know where these great guys and girls are now?

British Concert Party at KSLI Korea 1952

Peter Glaze (Crackerjack)

Pat Turner

Bill Johnson (Oklahoma!)

Unwanted Christmas Card !

The card illustrated was left by the North Korean & Chinese forces along the line to undermine and demoralise our troops in 1952.

It has been supplied by the Christchurch Branch of the NZ Korean Veterans.
