Vets visit Miami
 | Miami Visit 53 Korean veterans and wives went to Miami during November to join the American Armistice parades being held in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. We were met by a Korean welcoming party at Miami airport dressed in their National costumes and they all looked very smart especially the children. We were each given roses and our ‘leader’ Frank Fallows and his wife Barbara were presented with a lovely bouquet. Our hotel was on Miami beach and we had the choice of swimming in a super pool or the sea. We marched in two parades and were also entertained by Vets at an Indian reservation in the Everglades as well as the Royal British Legion of whom we speak very highly. Our parade marshal was Dudley Wood (former WO1 REME) and the turnout and marching was by far the best in the parade, so said the spectators! To finalise our visit we went on a four day cruise to Key West and Cosumel in Mexico which was very enjoyable especially to be amongst young people having an uproarious time. We all came back with lots of suntan and quite a few Christmas presents for relatives and friends. |
