One of the key principles established by the member states of the EU is that if areas are to regenerate effectively there has to be less top down decision making, and more bottom up. To make this a reality in North Yorkshire, different communities were invited to prepare an economic and social profile of their area, and to outline possible projects that might meet the needs that had been identified. Swaledale & Arkengarthdale (The Two Dales) is one of these community areas.

For the next 6 years funding will be available to support existing and new ventures to survive, grow, and bring benefit to the local area.
