The outdoor environment
 | Our outside learning environment includes three diverse garden areas. Each area promotes a different aspect of your childs learning.
The main courtyard area
 | | Children have the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills, imaginitive, social and emotional skills. |
Side garden area
 | | This area stays lovely and cool, even on the warmest of summer days. In this area we have a picnic table, a bird table and lots of bird feeders. We are in the process of developing this area to provide a haven for a variety of different birds and mini beasts. |
Grassed area
| In this area we have a bark path and stepping stones leading to a vegetable garden. There are two small hills which the children love to roll down. | |
Soft play and ball pool area
 | | We are fortunate to have a soft play area which children access regularly. This area has been a valuable addition to our nursery with special needs children who are fully integrated into school life and all activities. We hope in future to acquire new sensory equipment which will benefit not only special needs children but children of all abilities |
Quiet Area
| We have built a new gazebo in part of our Courtyard area. This is a place where children can sit and watch the other children playing or read a book. The children are going to plant lots of climbing and scented plants with seasonal bulbs to create an area with all year round interest. | |
New Climbing Frame
| We have purchased a new climbing frame for the children to explore and develop their gross motor skills. | |
Play house
| We have a lovely new playhouse and planters which the children all love. This area helps to develop childrens imaginary skills and by providing a wide range of accessories helps children to make sense of the world around them. One day the playhouse can be a cafe another day it can be a shop there are no ends to the possibilities. | |
New Sand Pit and Bird Hide
| In the side garden area we have a lovely new covered sand pit where the children can learn all about the properties of sand and extend their knowledge and understanding of the world. We have moved the older playhouse from the main courtyard area to this area to create a more stimulating and challanging environment. We also hope that the children will use the playhouse to watch the birds feeding from the bird table. | |
