We are a society which believes in taking every opportunity to improve what we do - whether that be acting, directing, stage management, set design or improving our front of house expertise and service to our audience.

We understand and support the need for training and skills development. After all, if we were a football team we wouldn't expect just to be able to turn up on the pitch and play well.

This section of the website details the training and development opportunities available to our members, including in-house workshops, external training organisations and formal courses of tuition locally.

Workshops

Last summer we ran a series of acting workshops with Leslie Simpson of Three over Eden theatre company. These were very successful, and highly enjoyable and inspirational for those who attended. Building on this success, we arranged to work with Leslie on some workshops specifically centred on our November 2006 production. It was a very exciting opportunity to explore both play and characters in more depth than is usually possible, and for all members who wished to to benefit from professional guidance. The workshops were extremely useful and we may well carry out something similar in the future. Watch this space!
