Drugs Education & Effective Prevention

DEEP 7 - Is one of A WAY OUT's community drugs projects.

The pilot of this project was so successful that we are now in the process of rolling the project out to five different estates in the Teesside area.
DEEP 7 - Is a series of drugs education programmes, using a combination of OFFSTED and SCODA approved resources, current life skills techniques and innovative drugs awareness materials.
The programme is implemented in a young and lively way. The DEEP workers all have a peer role model image (young trendy / pop idol type). Up to date with latest drug jargon but clean and healthy living (Sporty, non smokers don't take drugs etc.)
DEEP 7 – (Term Time) Drugs education and effective prevention - in School. Running school based prevention programmes with vulnerable young people. In partnership with Health promotion and learning support units.
DEEP 7 – (Out of hours drop in) - A weekly evening drop in ran in central community buildings such as churches or community centres. Young people can access advice and also take part in life skills, drugs awareness sessions and other sporting and recreational activities.
DEEP 7 – (half term) Drugs education & effective prevention in 7 days
is a seven day programme specifically designed for hard to reach / socially excluded/ high risk young people (Tier 2 prevention cases).
The team will take groups of young people on outward bound weeks, integrating into the programme, life skills, relationship and team building; alternative highs (abseiling, exercise, sport etc.)
