Jill Kemp with Helen Reid

WEDNESDAY 1st October, 7-30pm
THRONE ROOM, AUCKLAND CASTLE
Jill Kemp - recorders
Helen Reid - piano

Programme includes:
Bach: Sonata in C major
Telemann: Sonata in F minor
Handel: Sonata in F major
Stephanie Cant: “…but I will miss the Seagulls”
Berkeley: Sonatina

In 2007, Jill was the first recorder player ever to win the main solo award for woodwind and brass in the Royal Overseas League Competition. She is dedicated to raising the profile of the recorder and proving it to be a serious concert instrument. Her repertoire spans six centuries, and she has also developed a unique repertoire of her own transcriptions of a wide variety of music, allowing the recorder to be heard in new and fresh ways.

Jill and Helen will also be holding workshops at two local schools, funded by the Society: King James I Community Arts College in Bishop Auckland, and Egglescliffe School and Arts College in Stockton.
