The Bowling Green is well situated near the centre of the Town at Wycar and is a hive of activity all year round with an excellent social section.
On the playing side, the club run four (4) teams during the summer, one playing in the JSW league, one playing in the Bateson League (this being solely for people over the age of 55 and retired), the Ladies playing in the Darlington League and the Gents in the Darlington Veterans League as well as a number of friendly matches and club competitions - so there is something for everybody.
Never a club to stand still, a new machinery store was opened on 4th June 2006 and a new Clubhouse in August 2000. The clubhouse is the venue for some excellent social activities all year round that include whist, dominoes, carpet bowls, quiz nights, various demonstrations and the occasional dinner.
You do not even have to be a 'bowler' to join in, Social Membership at £10 a year is extremely good value - or just turn up, visitors are very warmly welcomed - full details can be found on the 'What's On!' page.
Next Committee Meeting: Monday, 18th January 2010 at 6pm.
