Spread Eagle Cup May 2008
 | | A disappointing turnout at Rothbury to play for this trophy, and despite cold weather, a good afternoon of golf. Unfortunately the sun made it's appearance as everyone was finishing. |
 | Winning pair were Norman Frizzel and Mike Armstrong with 39 points (above)
2nd Sandie Henderson and Dave Watson 35 points
3rd Les Tait and Alan Myers 34points (won on back nine) |
 | | My knowledge of golf is limited but why, after twelve months practice since the last tournament here, have the scores got worse? Last year it was won with 41 points. |
Thanks to Moira for her hard work. |
Durham-Golf washout
 | | Unfortunately our golf tournament scheduled for July, had to be cancelled due to a waterlogged course. |
The Douglas Autumn Salver at Burgham Golf Club
 | | Monday 1st Sept saw 23 members take part in this tournament and despite an awful weather forecast, the afternoon remained warm and sunny, if rather breezy. |
 | | Alan Dodd, John Angel, Bob Thornton and Geoff Bowden return to the clubhouse after completing their round. |
 | | Whilst Moira Douglas, Joan Monkhouse and Dave Watson check their scores. Dave was covered in lipstick at the end and a little groggy, with the ladies giving him a kiss after every good shot he played. |
 | | Finishing their round are David Kerr, Dave Wilkinson, Alan Myers and John Henderson. |
 | | Les Tait, Pamela Varley, Richard Varley, and Verna Watson make their way back to the clubhouse. |
 | | Mike Armstrong and Tom Reed head back. |
 | | As does Eric Joyce.......... |
 | | and Al Logan studies his card to see where it all went wrong. |
 | Meanwhile the winners with 41 points Irene Dodd and Lou Hetherington receive there prizes. Runners up with 39 points were Dave Wilkinson and Alan Myers. Whilst third with 38 points were David Kerr and John Henderson.
Thanks as usual to our organisers. |
