Constitution

1. The name of the Club shall be "Barclays Bank Spread Eagle Club" Newcastle Area. 2. The object of the Club is to consider the provision of welfare to any member in need of assistance (via the Secretary or Liaison Officers) and to arrange a varied programme of social events. 3. Membership of the Club shall be confined to the following:- (a) Pensioners of the Bank. (b) Husbands, wives and partners of pensioners. (c) Widows, widowers of former members of staff. (d) Husbands/wives upon re-marriage of widows/widowers of former staff. 4. A committee shall be elected at each Annual General Meeting, comprising Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and not less than four other members with the following provisos:- (a) The immediate Past Chairman shall be invited to remain on the committee for a further year. (b) The committee shall have the power to co-opt further members. (c) Any member shall be eligible to sit on the committee. (d) Four members shall form a quorum. (e) Any member shall be eligible for re-election. (f) With the exception of the Office Holders, members may serve on the committee for a maximum period of 4 years and will retire by rotation. (g) The office of Chairman may be held for a period of 2 years. 5. An annual subsrciption may be decided at the Annual General Meeting. 6. The financial year end of the club shall be 31st December. 7. A member of the Club, not being a committee member, shall be elected each year as Auditor. 8. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in the month of March each year. 9. Members shall be entitled to invite guests to any function with the exception of the Annual General Meeting.
