Dear Member,

As a result of Brian Wilkinson deferring his term of Chairman, due to two orthopaedic operations, I am happy to continue in the role for a further year with the support of John Angel.

Once again we have a wide variety of events on offer throughout the year, but the unavoidable cancellation of our visits to the Gala Theatre Durham, and the Tyne River Cruise, has left us with a void in our calendar. However, this does present us with an opportunity of offering something new in June. The Committee are already looking at options in this respect and we will be in touch.
May I take this opportunity of stressing how important it is to the Club that you attend at least one event a year. By doing so, we are able to claim the maximum annual subsidy from the Bank (£28.00 per eligible Bank Pensioner) for the benefit of our Club. Please join in and socialise with old colleagues and new friends.

The Liaison Officers have an important role in the Club and, if you are aware of any former staff who might benefit from being contacted or visited by them, please advise the Liaison Officer for that particular area or Margaret. (See information sheet for telephone numbers)

Finally, I would like to thank the committee, Liaison Officers and Members for your support over the last year which I am sure will continue over the coming twelve months.
