Barclay's 'dancing girls'

In 1937 Dorothy Calvert joined The Bank on an annual salary of £71.10s 0d plus annual Large Town allowance of £10.8s 0d. At that time all female staff had to be trained typists before they could be employed with Barclays and had to leave if they married. After a few months she joined a dance troupe made up of Barclays Collingwood Street staff, except for one who was the manager's daughter (far left on photographs).
The bank held a concert in early 1938 at a Jesmond theatre with male singers and our dancing girls. The girls were trained by one of the original 'Tiller Girls', who of course I am not old enough to remember.

The dancers rehearsing, Dorothy 3rd from right, as indicated

On with the Show - Girls in same places as rehearsals (above). Do you know any of them?

They were disbanded when war broke out and Dorothy went on to work in Trustee Department. Thanks for the story and pictures Dorothy.

Wedding photo

I was looking through some old photographs the other day, and came across this one. Do you recognise them on their wedding day?
