THE BEDALE HUNT CONSTITUTION

1.
The Hunting year runs from 1st May to 30th April that being the normal term of office for the Master(s). The Hunt Accounts run for the same period.

2.
The AGM to be held no later than 1st February each year when the appointments for the following season are to be made. These to consist of:-

a)The re-engagement or appointment of the Master/s as recommended by the Committee.
b)The appointment or re-election of the officers of the Hunt.
c)The filling of vacancies of the Committee.

3.
The AGM shall consist of the Members of The Bedale Hunt being Landowners, Covert owners, Farmers who farm or own land within the Hunt boundaries and over whose land hounds and the mounted field are permitted to go and Subscribers who have paid at least the minimum subscription for the current season: this is not including Complimentary Members.

4.
The AGM shall confirm the appointment of an Auditor for the Accounts.

5.
Notice of the AGM, or any Extraordinary General Meeting of the Hunt to be given to all those entitled to attend 21 days before the Meeting. No motion to be put from the Chair unless 14 days notice in writing has been received from the Secretary.

6.
In event of the General Hunt Meeting not approving the Committee's recommendation(s) the following options are open:

a)The Committee may accept reference back for further consideration.
b)The Committee may resign and a new Committee be appointed forthwith.

7.
The Committee shall consist of the officers and nine other general members, who shall have a majority of farmers and landowners and who may not necessarily ride to hounds, and the Chairman of the Hunt Supporter’s Club. The officers may not vote and the Hunt Chairman will only use his casting vote. One general member may be from outside the Hunt boundaries. Three members retire each year after serving for three years, and are not eligible for re-election for one further year. Five members form a quorum. The Masters may attend by invitation of the Chairman, to speak but not to vote.

8.
The Committee shall ensure that any person appointed as Master(s) will become a member of the MFHA, if not so already, and will abide by the MFHA Rules, Instructions and Public Relations Directives. Similarly the Committee will abide by such rules, and directions.

9.
The Master(s) is/are responsible for the discipline of the Field.

10.
Any alterations in this Consultation at a General Meeting must be carried by a majority of 75% of those voting.
