Teesdale Thrash 2003
Teesdale Mercury Wednesday 7 May 2003
THE power of positive thought clearly worked well for the organisers of the Teesdale Thrash over the Bank Holiday weekend in Barnard Castle – the weather stayed fine, despite gloomy forecasts of downpours.
Morris sides from the Cotswolds to Scotland flocked to the town, which resounded with the sound of their music and dancing, much to the delight of other visitors. The Thrash was hosted by home side, The Black Sheep from Barnard Castle, and included a craft fair, ceilidhs, singarounds, workshops and children’s magic entertainment with Ian Wragg. With the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, Barnard Castle was well and truly bustling.
