More Tips
 Feel in need of a quick de-stress?
If you DO feel stressed (and if you have pain, who doesn't!), it's probably best not to go for what 'stressed' becomes when spelt backwards - 'desserts' ! There are plenty of other ways to de-stress rather than overdosing on Easter Eggs or chocolate cake! Try these two:
General de-stress
For this technique, sit up straight, or you could try it lying down, and close your eyes. Then place your fingers flat on your forehead, so that your right and left fingertips touch.
Inhale gently but deeply.
As you exhale for a count of 7, slowly draw the fingers away from each other over the brow towards your hairline.
Repeat 4/5 times.
Eye De-stress
1. Your eyes become extremely tired when looking at a fixed focal distance for some time, such as the computer screen. To relax your eyes when you're working at the computer, look away at something at least 6 metres away from you every 10 minutes or so. If the 'something' you look at can be green, even better, as green is the most restful colour in the rainbow.
Remember, eyes are like muscles and need exercising - staying at a fixed distance, such as a computer screen, is like keeping your arm bent and tight all day. This is why it's a good idea to change your focal length often during the day.
2. When you are outside, instead of looking at your feet or just around you, see if you can rest your eyes on the furthest horizon. These days we often use our close vision all day long without using our long vision, give your eyes a treat and let them rest far away!

A WONDERFUL QUOTE

If you look at what you have in life,
you'll always have more.
If you look at what you don't have in life,
you'll never have enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you like these techniques, you could add them to your kit of pain control skills.
And why not collect the pain control skills into a small notebook that you could carry around with you as a reminder?
More on the theme of 'stressed' spelt backwards
Here's a timely story from Clare in England who is obviously looking forward to a whole pile of eggs at Easter!
Chocolate is a Vegetable!!
Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans.
Bean = vegetable.
Sugar is derived from either sugar cane or sugar BEETS.
Both of them are plants, in the vegetable category.
Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.
To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk,
which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.
Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries
all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want!
Take A break in Rockville,Donegal ,Eire
 | This has to be one of Ireland's best kept secrets! OSi Map 10 Grid Ref: 692775
Overlooking Teelin Bay in the shade of Crockunna Hill lies Rockville.
Rockville consists of a pair of self catering holiday bungalows one of which is fully accessible for people with disabilities.
The three tastefully decorated double bedrooms are large and well appointed with en suite toilets and showers, television and clock radio.
Electricity is not included in the price and costs roughly four euros per day.
Gas is free and there is a modern gas barbecue provided for outside cooking.
The nearest village is Carrick just over one mile to the north and sits astride the Glen River and boasts two general stores, an award winning butcher, petrol stations, public houses and a church.
The Gatehouse is world famous and locally produced knitwear can be purchased along with other fine arts and crafts.
The tourist season is from June to the end of August and is a very important time for local traders who depend on the tourist trade to sustain them throughout the year, consequently, goods are priced accordingly, this may surprise visitors, perhaps giving rise to feelings of being ripped off but really considering the economy the prices are very fair!
The main language is Irish Gaelic and the local people are very friendly and welcoming even towards the English!
Kilcar four miles to the east is the next town full of pubs and great eating houses. It has to be one of the cleanest towns in Ireland.
The wool factory makes for an interesting visit, particularly seeing at first hand how material is woven into the various fabrics.
It also has a health Centre should the need arise.
Rockville has so many interesting sites around to explore particularly its many quiet beaches which are safe for swimming. The waters are so clear that you are able to spot the crabs before they nip you!
being near the coast there are numerous water sports to suit most people's tastes from yachting, angling, surfing etc.
Details of local activites are displayed on the bungalows notice board and regularly reviewed.
Maureen Hughes, the helpful proprietor is a fount of knowledge - understanding fully the needs of her clientele and has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that they want for nothing. If something is needed just ask.
Precautions
Sun - Ireland occasionally has sunny days and on these occasions its wise to wear sunscreen
Midges
These are far fiercer than the weaker Scottish varieties coming out to annoy you at dawn and also dusk.
But help is at hand Citronella candles are available at large stores and the midges hate these.
If you are bitten use an antihistamine cream to reduce the itching. Apparently the midges prefer different ferromones which explains the reason why some people are bitten and others not! If your ferromones attract the midges (you will know immediately) use insect repellent and long sleeves in the evenings to discourage the blighters!)
Ticks
Do not be too surprised after rambling the sheep covered hills to find a tick or two embedded in your skin. Ticks naturally live on sheep and also the shrubs nearby.
These are largely harmless (in England there are areas where Lyme disease is prevalent and its best to seek medical advice if your suffer flu like symptoms after being bitten) however, Donegal is not infected remove ticks by striking a match, blowing it out and holding it above them (make sure you do not hold the match too close to the skin)
Don't pull them off because the head will more than likely remain and cause a minor infection.
Even with the midges and ticks you will find that Donegal has a lot to offer and will afford you one of the most pleasant holiday experiences imaginable - go for it!
Healing Seas
A cove roughly 1.2 miles south of Rockville begs a visit, suspended in the sea are the minerals washed by the rain from the hills which combine with the sea salt and other minerals from seaweed.
The water temerature fluctuates from warm to cold and coupled with the movement of the sea soothes away aches and pains.
An hours spent in the water leaves you feeling invigorated and refreshed.
Highly recommended for people with arthritis, back pain and other mobility problems
Nearby is a spring with ice cold water which we used to wash the sand from our feet, local people drink from it. |  |
Teelin Bay - Boat tours, Angling
 | Rockville is ideally located as a base for many pursuits, hill walking, reflection, painting, angling, sailing in fact there is an abundance of activities to suit most peoples tastes.
Seafood is naturaly one of the delicacies and can be enjoyed in most of the towns in the area |
