GETTING MARRIED IN CHURCH
 | A marriage service is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner. If you choose to get married in church including God in your marriage doesn’t mean that you will avoid all the usual ups and downs, but you will know that you can look to God for help and guidance and that his love will sustain you. You will also have the support and encouragement of the Christian Church family
We are very happy to conduct weddings in all our parish churches. The regulations that apply to church weddings have changed recently making it easier to marry in a church. To find out about the legal requirements go to www.cofe.anglican.org
A NEW SERVICE Wedding and Baptism combined.
These days some couples choose to wait until the arrival of their first child before taking the serious step of getting married. A new service has been devised to meet the needs of those couples who choose a church wedding and want to acknowledge that their child is also part of that big step of faith. A further benefit is that it reduces the cost and preparation for two ceremonies. On the downside it only provides the excuse for one party rather than two !
The service retains the atmosphere of both ceremonies without being over long.

WEDDING QUESTIONS
 Q. What if one of us is divorced? See the Anglican Church Website for more details. In this parish we do conduct weddings for people who have been divorced subject to certain Anglican Church guidelines. If we are not able to conduct a church wedding we can arrange other alternatives such as a Service of Prayer and Dedication after a civil ceremony.

A Rare Event
 | Easby village is a tiny community , so tiny in fact that the marriage of anyone from the village is a rarity. So it was with great pleasure that St. Agatha’s welcomed Linda Walsh and Trevor McDermot, who were married on 9th July 2011. As with any wedding at St. Agatha’s it was a special occasion but even more so as the regular congregation were specifically invited to attend. The nicest thing was that the bride and her attendents were able to walk down the hill to the church – arriving just before the rain.
The wedding was conducted by Rev. Laura Wilford, as Lesley was on holiday.
