BAPTISM the heart of Christian LIfe
Baptism is at the heart of the Christian life. It is a step on the long journey of faith that includes awareness of God, recognising God’s work in Jesus Christ, finding out about the stories of faith in the Bible and becoming part of a worshipping community of people. At each of our 4 churches we recognise the significance of Baptism for both adults and children and for the whole church family.
All Baptisms take place in the regular services. Those who wish for a Baptism are warmly invited to any church service to make arrangements to meet up to arrange your own Baptism or Blessing event. We try to accommodate the need for particular dates and we encourage young families to have baptisms at more informal Family Services. THANKSGIVING for the BIRTH of a CHILD
For those who want to mark the birth of a new baby but would rather leave a Baptism until the child is old enough to choose for him/herself a ‘Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child’ can be incorporated into a regular service. This means the child will be blessed (and be given a certificate) and the parents prayed for
