FATAL ACCIDENT TO A MINER IN CLEVELAND
A miner, named Richard Major, aged 22, met with a shocking death in the mines of Messrs Pease at Crag Hall, near Brotton, early yesterday morning. The deceased and two others had been blasting stone, and after firing the last shot and returning to see what quantity of ironstone had been brought away, a small portion of the roof fell in and struck the deceased. As he was looking up at the time he was chiefly injured about the face and head. He was immediately conveyed to the bank, but died before reaching the surface. The deceased has left a young widow and child
