 | Another link with the start of the industrial era in East Cleveland will disappear when these houses in Chapel Street, Brotton are demolished.
Work started this week under a Skelton and Brotton Urban Council scheme and the residents have been provided with alternative accommodation.
When the 27 old houses are finally cleared, the council plans to convert the site into an open space, with a grassed area, shrubs and seats. The estimated cost, about £1,200, will be considered at the annual estimates meeting.
