Hi can anyone help ?
I'm looking for any info or photo's of my Barton family. I have traced two of my grandfather's brothers', Arthur Barton and John William Barton up to Brotton, they both originated from Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire. They were both Ironstone miners.
Arthur married Indianna Sibly in 1907 and John William married Jane Beatrice Lack in 1911.
At the time of the 1911 census they are all living together in Broadbent Street.
Arthur died in 1918 by which time John and Jane had moved and were living in Wilson Street.
John and Jane look to of had seven children, Minnie Nancy Barton b 1911, Beatrice b 1913, Mary b 1918, Evelyn b 1919, John b 1922, Arthur b 1927 and Leslie b 1930.
Grateful for any info
Regards
Julia.

I have traced at least 4 of my 3 x Great Aunt's son's up to Brotton where they were Ironstone Miners, Jabez,Jacob, Alfred and William Horner.
William and Hannah Horner are living at 13-15 Errington St in 1901 and it looks like Hannah is running a Baker's and Confectioner with her daughters whilst her husband William and brother in law are still Ironstone Miners.
Does this ring any bells for anyone, the family originated from Huntingdonshire.
Thanks, Debs.

Hi, I was born Willow Drive front bedroom at my grandad William Brown and Lavinia[alice]Brown (formley Stubbings) home, daughter of Alan Brown[pig iron]Hilda Rebecca Brown (Davison). William lived at 46 Ings Lane, Lavinia lived at Warsett Farm, both of their fathers were deceased at the time of their marriage in 1929. Both fathers - James Brown & John William Stubbing were Ironstone Miners. Does anyone know if there was a Mining disaster around that time?

Hi everyone
I read with much interest, on some of the other web sites, what we have all done since Warsett and leaving in that hot summer of 76. Still have family in the area. My little brother Graham is in Australia.
The school looked sad in the photos and now even sadder...its gone and a new construction is up and running. I remember the English lesson with the chap with a beard. He looked after the football team for a while I think that will be from 73 onwards!
