Week 398
Quite a few new additions have arrived at BB over the last week.
A cry for help from the RSPCA was the first addition. An unwanted boy and girl bunny and a boy guinea pig, all living together. None were neutered or spayed. All three had been health checked before coming to BB and Gwen had been told that the girl bunny was not pregnant, despite her rounded tummy!
Although three furries were 'best of pals' with the little guinea pig snuggled between the two buns, Gwen was convinced the girl bun was pregnant and decided to put her in an indoor house of her own. Two days later she gave birth to nine babies but sadly one of them died.
The two boys have now been neutered and are still together and it is hoped that the two will accept the mother of the babies back, once her litter is old enough and she has been spayed.

Another unwanted bunny came last weekend. Gwen had agreed to take her, providing she had a health check and a VHD vaccination. This was done but on arrival at BB it soon became clear this was a very sad girl indeed.
She had a very thin layer of fur that was crawling in mites and she looked so depressed. A visit to Aunty francis, the vet, revealed she had numerous nasty spikes on her teeth, which were causing her alot of pain. Whilst being spayed she also had a dental but it was also discovered this poor bunny had cystic ovaries. She still looks so sad but hopefully, she should start to feel alot better and much more comfortable having all those spikes removed. Gwen hopes, once she starts to pick up, she will get together with Ranger, a long term resident at BB who is desparate for a friend.
