Grangetown Postcard of 1906
This was probably bought at Lightfoots Shop on Whitworth Road to send to friends in York.
It makes a change from the Blast Furnace postcards so proudly portrayed at this time. |

Seaman's Gramophone Record and Cover
 | Seaman's Gramophone Record Cover - courtesy of Tessie Pearsall
Hard to believe that Grangetown had two record outlets in times past - something that was new to me. There must have been some money floating about in the 'twenties'.
This unique gramophone record by the Edison Bell Radio Co is of two songs by the Radio Rhythm Boys - Painting the Clouds with Sunshine and Tip-Toe Thro' The Tulips - both from the Film "Gold Diggers of Broadway" produced in 1929. |

Concert Programme St Mary's 1902
 | Concert Programme St Mary's 1902 - courtesy of Edward Wilcock

Wedding Cake 1930
 | Wedding Cake 1930 - courtesy of Mary White
Taken in Bessemer Street Back Arch; this is the wedding cake of Philomena Lane - daughter of the Mrs Lane of Clean Steps and White Pinnies fame. An unusual picture - probably taken outside in the sun by a family member who didn't have a flash gun. |
