MITZI AND ONE SATURDAY.
Hello there! My name is Mitzi. I bet you are wondering what is a Mitzi. Maybe you were thinking a Mitzi is some complicated toy or thing you bounce around, but sorry to disappoint you, that is not true. I am a cat that talks. You may not understand me but Hanni, my owner does. I came into Hanni’s life at the young age of 13 weeks, and if you saw how scraggly I looked I would hope you would take pity on me. I may have looked scraggly but I was sure cute. At that time Hanni had a dog named Carli and next to me she was very big. I wasn’t afraid of her. I tried to stretch myself to appear longer so she would not want to eat me. Carli was a very gentle dog. All Carli wanted to do was play with and protect me was all the mean animals out there. Now, I am seven years old and Carli is no longer with us.
I think that is enough for now because you are expecting an adventure and an adventure you are going to get.
One Saturday I decided I was tired of staying inside lying around and watching Hanni read the newspaper so decided to do something about it.
Since our bedroom window was open I decided to go to it and peer outside to see what looked exciting to me. I saw that the neighbor’s had their window wide open. I jumped over and peered in to see if anyone was around. I wasn’t sure if they went out for a walk with their baby or was gone the entire Saturday. I thought if they went away for Saturday it would be foolish to keep their window wide open not just for me to enter but a burglar as well. I decided to take the chance and go inside and do more exploring since I didn’t hear any voices of any kind. I jumped inside and crept on my paws not to make any noise so I would not disturb a soul. I checked all through the apartment and did not see or hear anyone. I decided that the coast was clear so then I could have a kef time. I always wondered what they had in their apartment so now was the time to explore.
Hanni was so engrossed in her newspaper that I thought she wouldn’t even notice that I was gone. I was wrong. She started to call me wondering what happened to me and at first I ignored her. She started to annoy me so I went to the window to let her know where I was. I waited till she decided to check outside our bedroom window. She got to the window and peered out. First she looked to the right and then down below and nothing and last but not least finally to the left and lo and behold there I was. I just smiled at her and waved. She told me to come home that instant. I would not budge. I told her I was having such a good time that I would come home when I felt like it. She told me that it was not right to be in their apartment and that they could walk in any time. She told me that the lady is afraid of animals and that when she saw me she might faint. I decided to ignore her and go back inside and see what kind of mischief I could get into.
While I was doing that Hanni was trying to figure out ways to get me to come home. She went over to the house opposite our building and asked if she could borrow their ladder. The young man that answered the door leant it to her. She got a bucket from inside our apartment and took that and the ladder to the neighbor’s open window. She then climbed up to the window and called me to come to the window. I came to the window to see what was happening and there we were face to face. She then put the bucket up and told me to jump inside. I crossed my arms refusing to do as she asked. She was getting quite angry and frustrated. I went back inside. In the meantime the people that lived upstairs at the time that owned Shosh came home and asked her what she was doing. She explained and they offered to try and get me to come to the window again so she could grab me and put me inside the bucket and take me home. I was on to them so when the man called me to the window I came but stretched out my paw like I wanted to scratch him and he backed away and climbed down the ladder. Hanni was on her own.
She gave up and returned the ladder and took the bucket and went back inside our aparment. She didn’t know what else to do but wait to see when I would return. It was getting very late and she thought any time they would return. I didn’t pay any attention because I was having so much fun. I then realized it was getting late and decided it was time to go home to eat and go to bed. I then climbed back over to our side and jumped inside our window.
By that time Hanni was getting really worried. When she saw me she forgot how angry she was that all she could do was pick me up and give me lots of hugs and kisses because she was so happy to see me.
How do you figure that one. I was waiting for her to yell at me and send me to bed without any supper. I would have cried anyway and she would have given in. I know how to get to her.
I had such a good time that I have to think of what I can do my next adventure.
Till next time, bye for now.

Mitzi And The Lady On The Ground.
Hello again. I know it has been awhile. I think I had better refresh your memory as to who I am. I am Mitzi the talking cat and my owner is Hanni.
I hope as we get into the story you will remember my short story called: “Mitzi and One Shabbat.”
On to my adventure.
Hanni lets me go out early in the morning. We first open the door and check how the hallway is and I then check to see if there are any cats around that may prevent me from going out. There is one in particular. Her name is Shosh. She roams the building and when she is around will not let me out. She is very mean. There have been occasions that she got into our apartment and ate my food. Since Hanni doesn’t know how to deal with her she just let her do it and then she would leave. She scratches and bites so people like to stay clear of her.
Well, one day it looked like not a cloud in the sky so I asked Hanni if it would be ok to go out. Hanni is very curious what I do when I go out. I either come home right away or stay out a long time. In the beginning she used to get worried and come out looking for me and spoiled my fun. I knew she cared so didn’t get angry. Now, she is used to it so doesn’t worry as much.
I know I go off on tangents. I wonder where I learned that from. I learned that from Hanni. She has a tendency to do that.
Well, I was at the entranceway thinking about where I was going to go today and I saw something just lying on the ground. It wasn’t a something, it was a lady. She did not move. I didn’t know if she was dead or what. I thought to myself. Don’t panic. Go over and smell her and see if that does anything. What do I know. I am a cat.
I went over and smelled her and she still didn’t move. I saw some of the cats that come around and eat the food that Hanni puts out in the morning so decided to call them over. We did a huddle as to decide what to do. We were in a huddle whispering. I asked why are we whispering she can’t hear us. We all got together and tried dragging her to the entranceway. We saw it wasn’t as easy as it looks. I saw humans dragging someone once on TV and remembered it. It was on a program Hanni was watching. She was laughing her head off and I had to see what was so funny. It didn’t look so funny to me. As a matter of fact, I thought it was quite stupid, but that is humans for you. They will never learn.
Well, I did it again. Back to the story.
We took our time on the steps. Good thing we didn’t have far to go. I was sweating all the way up. We finally made it to the door and I thanked them all. They went on their merry ways and I used our signal to let Hanni know I was back. She opened the door just thinking it would be me and boy did she take a step backwards. She never thought in a million years I would bring a human home. She always pictured one day I would bring a mouse. This was unbelievable. She asked me what is going on. I told her what happened. She learned a little CPR and also saw them doing it on TV so decided to try.
She got a pulse and started to dial for an ambulance when the woman all of a sudden woke up.
She was very groggy and asked where she was and what happened. Hanni explained to her so she wouldn’t faint if I started to talk to her. She would not believe that I could talk so Hanni handled it. She couldn’t get over it.
She then told us she sleep walks at night and ended up outside and there she was outside of our apartment building. She felt very embarrassed and apologized for any inconvenience it may have caused us. Hanni told her it was ok.
She asked if there was anything she could ever do for us to let her know. Hanni asked her if she was ok to walk or if wanted something to drink or rest awhile and she told us she was ok. She told us she had to get home or her family would start to worry and call the Police reporting her missing. She thanked us again and I told her she was welcome. She stared at me and could not believe it. She said, “you talk, and I said I certainly do.” If she had more time to spend with us she wanted to know how I could talk and if I ever went on talk shows.
She left and we never saw or heard from her again. There are times I think about her and wonder if she is ok. I guess no news is good news. We tried her phone number one time to see how she was and the person that answered told us she moved away and she didn’t have her new address. People come and go in one’s life. I am so glad that Hanni is a part of my life and is not going anywhere. If she goes she always tells me I go with her. She loves me and I love her. Isn’t love grand.
It is time to close now. I had a very long day and it is time for us to go to bed. Till next time.

Tushtots,... From The Gutter To Glittering Global Success.
 | In 2001 we rescued a 5 year old tabby Persian cat who was almost at death's door. He was one solid mat of fleas and fur, his jaw had been broken and allowed to set crooked, his teeth were shattered, his throat was choked with fur, his ribs stuck out as he wasn’t fed properly. He was at deaths door and being terrorised by a big dog which his owner had bought into his house. He was desperate to be loved, he would walk up and down the street meowing at strangers desperate for them to pick him up and cuddle him, so that he could close his eyes and feel safe and loved, albeit if only for a fleeting moment, but he was in such a wretched condition no-one would touch him. He would creep through other cats catflaps in search of food, only to be shoed off.
We did not want another cat, we had two, but broke our heart so badly to see him so we ‘bought’ him for a bottle of cheap champagne (all we had in the house at the time!). It turned out he had come from a rescue centre where he had to have his fur shaved off as he’d been very neglected for the first years of his life, unfortunately his new owner didn’t groom him either, she had no idea just how ‘high maintenance’ Persians can be! And soon lost interest in him.
After being shaved of all his fur yet again, and having to wear a romper suit as it was so cold, when he arrived here at Tom Cat Towers to live with us he was so depressed he wouldn't even look at us for 3 months, then as if a light was switched on one day he came across and gave me a kiss, a huge mog-snog on the nose and made the career decision he wasn't an unwanted cat anymore he had humans, who adored him utterly, to supervise!!
He goes out for walks on a harness and all the neighbours come talk to him, the local Rottweiler is in awe of him! He drinks milk from a bottle and the whole house is run around his whims and fancies! We are the love affair of the century
Tushtots, as he was renamed, was the key to writing a series of humorous and unusual books primarily for adults the first of which is currently sweeping America by storm and has become a ‘cult’ book. He has been interviewed on radio in America where 2 million listeners are falling in love with both him and his feline friends; Stinker of the Yard, Britney Kitney, Mewkus Willi Whizkas and others
'Willi Whizkas, Tall Tales and Lost Lives' by Paws and Claws published by Zymurgy ISBN1-903506-18-2 available on Amazon and in Waterstones for £7.99 was the featured book for April and May 2006 on CFA.ORG the global website for all things cat
Yet Tushtots, the shaved Persian, and Willi Whizkas a large pale grey Maine Coon cat who live with us in Tom Cat Towers here in Stafford are taking it all in their stride. They were featured on Animal Radio in America, they are reviewed on global websites and have fan mail from all over the world as people are reading the book and seeing their own rescued cat in the tales and we're complimented that people are enjoying the book and having a good laugh which is great as it was written for fun, as a private muse never intended for publication, so we're just as bowled over by its success as the cats are.
We just thought your readers may be interested to see a feline success story, a cat who nobody loved or wanted hitting the jackpot in life!! He is now an international celebrity cat!. In America narrated Christmas chapters from the book were broadcast to over 2 million listeners by a national radio station. BBC TV are coming to film him in a couple of weeks! We answer his fan mail for him as people write to him from around the world and enclose pictures of their rescued own cats!
The cats are also featured on the daily mews website where they have kindly placed some photos of the characters along with some info about Tushtots rescue:-
http://www.thedailymews.com/Williwhizkas/introwilliwhizkas.htm
The next book, (we are currently writing book 6), Willi Whizkas The Tiddleswick Tail Lifters has great characters, again who exist, such as Ginger Podgers and Fred Who Stares, people are begging us to write their rescue cats in and make them world famous too!
If you'd like to feature his story as a light-hearted article as an inspiration to others to adopt an older cat who nobody wants, but who turns out to be such a love-chunks we can’t imagine life without him, please do, so that everyone can enjoy the fun and perhaps consider rescuing a poor cat who turns out to be loved beyond diamonds!! We have emailable pictures of him when he had been shaved, and today as a real ‘glamour-puss’!!
Kindest regards and cat kisses
Carol Claws and Tushtots!!

Grace and Mr. T.J
 | After moving back north in 2007, I saved two sweet little Kitties, 'Grace and Mr T.J.
She gave me so much in life, such simple things like, basic happiness and love, and of course always wound her brother up...who is also very dear to me.
Unfortunately on January 30th 2008 my baby girl came running through her cat flap, and just flopped at my feet I knew that she had broken both front paws.
So by Saturday 2nd Feb 2008, we received the phone call from the vets, that both my mother and I were dreading. So I went down, and you know what the worst thing was about it all........for all her little paws were bandaged, she was so happy to see me, the little monkey gave me four love nips; and then fell fast asleep in my paws!
Oh I do miss her and I always will, so sweet dreams my precious little girl...Mr T.J. and your momma will never forget you.
