Lauren`s Story.
 | Aristocat Rescue.
I was born on 13th June 2003. There were four of us kittens. My mother was a farm cat, and was living a feral existence in a barn. With no proper food for her to eat, she had to go looking for food. We were only one day old, when our mother went looking for food, and didn`t come back.
She was found by the farmer`s wife, who knew she was living in the barn, mum was buried in the fields, the farmers wife then came looking for
us. When she found us, she took us all into the house, phoned her local vet to get some advice, who informed her that she would need to hand rear the kittens, this meant feeding the kittens every two hours right around the twenty four hour clock, the farmers wife said that she would give this a try.
Feeding us during the night was very difficult, the farmers wife, just couldn`t manage at all, finding coping with two young children, farm animals, to feed and clean out, along with her other duties at the farm, she reached the decision that she would have to find someone to take us kittens.
We came to Enid and Terry, the farmers wife had washed us, as we were all covered in milk, kittens get cold very easily. and when we arrived at Enid and Terry`s house, we were very cold.
The farmers wife explained all that she had done for the kittens, then left. Enid managed get us warm, and fed us, after this we were taken to the vets to be checked out, vet said that we were very small, and may not survive.
Sadly over the next 5 days, my two brothers and my sister died, now I was the only one left.

Feeding Lauren.

I had to be fed every two hours, I loved my feeds, and was fed very quickly. |

Growing.

I soon began to grow, becoming stronger day by day. |

B-B-Q.

Until another foster home decided to have a B-B-Q.So along with another foster mum and dad, we set off to the
B-B-Q, As Enid and Terry were also feeding Tinker who was three weeks old, and also being hand reared we all set off.
The B-B-Q was to start at 6pm. Jammy's feed time. Tinker was fed at 5pm. We gathered every thing we needed for them both and off we went. |

Taking Over The House.

We arrived at 5.55pm, just enough time to say "Hi" to everyone before taking over the foster homes house. We needed space in the sitting room to place the cat baskets, and the kitchen,the microwave was needed to heat Lauren`s milk. As soon as this was done it was my feeding time.

Naughty.

You know when you visit friends and say how well your babies behave, then suddenly they turn into litle monsters,screaming, crying, stamping their feet, having a real little paddy.
Well this was me, I screamed and shouted, did'nt want my food, just wanted to show all these human`s that I didn`t like my routine, being disrupted. |

At Six Weeks
At 6 weeks old I was eating cat food, in fact whatever was put down for me to eat, I ate it. As I was now eating cat food, and using a litter tray properly, Enid and Terry`s job was done. I was transfered to another foster home, so that they could get me ready for homing.
As I had been with Enid and Terry for so long, the moved stressed me, and I came out in a rash on my face caused by me scratching it, so I had to go back to the vets, had to have treatment, and wear a collar to stop me scratching my face. before I would be allowed to be rehomed.
Once my rash had cleared up. I was put up for homing, this lovely couple came to see me, fell in love with me, and took me home.
Again, the move upset me, and the stress rash returned, after treatment, and I got used to my new surroundings, the rash soon cleared up.
My new mum and dad changed my name from Lauren to Jammy, as they said that I was very lucky to have survived, and from where they came from the name Jammy means lucky. |
