POLICE & OURSELVES
COUNTRYSIDE CRIME WATCH. [ Darlington ]
|We were founded in October 2004. Our aims are to promote and encourage working relationships with other similar schemes including the Neighbourhood Watch. To improve personal and Household security and help to reduce the number of preventable crimes in the rural communities.
We strive to preserve and to protect all wildlife especially the indisciminate slaughter of Protected speces, Deer, Badger, Hare etc.
We have a unique Text Messaging service which reports incidents as they occur and provides information on criminal activities and suspicious vehicles. Information is also given in respect to successfull crime prevention methods. All of our members are registered for the 'SMARTWATER' security system, a new chemical innovation which has a 100% detection rate. We work in close partnership with Durham Police and the neighbouring county police forces. We promote a working relationship with local authorities.
We support, help and care for each other thus strengthening community spirit so that everyone works together to protect property and the safety of our members.
We support the elderly in the community, to help reduce crime and the Fear of crime.
Enrolment is on a probationary basis for the first year. Thereafter by agreement of the founder members, membership is for life. Membership is free.
We hold social functions such as dances, BBQ's and treasure trails etc where we raise funds for ourselves and other charities. [Please read our 'SOCIAL EVENTS' page for details of our forthcoming events or refer to the events calendar]
