Quality Parish Council Successes & CiLCA update

Congratulations to Esh , Horden and Shildon Councils in attaining Quality Parish Council Status.

Esh Parish Council is the first council in County Durham to obtain this accolade with a part time clerk and the first in the Derwentside District Council area.

This brings the total number of Quality Parish Councils in the County to eight.

West Auckland Parish Council have recently obtained Quality Status bringing the total number of Quality councils in County Durham to nine or around 8.3% of the total number of councils in Durham.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE ABOVE COUNCILS - WELL DONE.

We still have a long way to go but the propsects of further Quality Councils is good as six clerks have just completed the CiLCA mentoring course and it is hoped some of their councils will be pursuing Quality Status. In addition a further seven clerks and one councillor have subscribed to the next CiLCA mentoring course starting on 17 July.

Congratulations go to Susan Carmedy (Clerk to Brandon and Byshottles Parish Council) who is the first clerk to obtain CiLCA after following the mentoring sessions.

If any further Clerks or Councillors would be interested in obtaining the CiLCA qualification please let me know on 0191 3833827.
