Welcome to the Cedars School

Headteacher - Mrs J. Fraser

Chairman of Governors - Mrs. D. Hull

The Cedars School is an LEA community maintained special school. All the children at The Cedars School have special needs. Within Gateshead’s overall special needs provision The Cedars provides education for pupils with physical disabilities and language/communication difficulties, some of whom may have moderate learning difficulties. Provision is in an Early Years class (nursery/reception) primary (years 1 – 6) and secondary (years 7 – 11) departments. Pupils can also attend for short temporary placements whilst waiting to return to their mainstream school due to recent medical procedures. The school also provides education for a small number of emotionally vulnerable pupils whom the LEA are attempting to reintegrate into a school setting.
