Welcome to Chester-le-Street Youths Website
CHESTER-LE-STREET YOUTH midfielder James Ellis (17) and goalkeeper Kyle Barlow (18) are through to the final stage of the English Schools FA trials this weekend.
They have racked up nearly 70 CLS youth appearances between them in their two years at the club and they will be hoping to make the final cut and earn the right to represent their country in international fixtures against Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Israel, Poland and Holland.
Youth Team Manager Andrew Muxworthy told The Northern Echo “We were lucky enough to have four players put forward by the Durham County Schools FA Manager Rob Hope for the ESFA trials. Both James and Kyle have stayed the course to the final weekend and I am proud of them but particularly pleased for them as they are both focused and influential players in our youth squad. They are likeable lads, have earned this chance, and importantly have strong aspirations to make the squad. It is a great honour for them to be involved”.
The trip to Lilleshall this weekend coincides with Durham County FA youths fixture at Cheshire FA. The following Saturday Durham are at home. This means Chester-le-Street youths next fixture is the 20th December against Willington in the League Cup.
Meanwhile, midfielder Alex White has been commissioned to design a new CLS Youth web site.
