Sir William Turner’s Almshouses, courtyard and main entrance

Classics at Kirkleatham present the best of national and international artists. Since the series began in 1999, Sir William Turner’s Almshouses have developed an unequalled reputation for consistently high standard concerts. In an audience survey, 87% of patrons praised the quality of the artists and their programmes.

International performers

Performers of International Repute from America, Brazil, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain and Thailand have performed at Kirkleatham. They are all familiar faces on the prize-winners’ podiums at international music festivals, including the Leeds International Piano competition, the World Piano Competition and the Segovia Guitar Prize.

Outstanding young musicians from the region are invited to perform at Kirkleatham. Sam Kennedy, violin, went on to study music at Cambridge University, Sarah Beaty has developed an interntional career after studying at the Julliard School in New York.
