Credit Union

Mobile Library


The mobile library stops at Victoria
Lane, Coundon, as follows:
Mon 9.30am – 6pm
Tue 9.30am – 6pm
Wed 9.00am – 12pm

Street Wardens


Coundon and Leeholme currently have two street wardens who work alongside the police to improve the residents quality of life. These two men now cover a total of nine areas between them and are obviously very busy. They are permitted to
issue fines for dog fouling and littering and can provide residents with practical advice and help with physical security and personal safety issues. The Street Wardens can be contacted on 01388 663232

The Action Team bus stops
next to Sainsbury's in Coundon on
Wednesdays between 2 and 3pm
Looking for a job? The action team can help you search for work, produce a CV and take away any barriers that are stopping you working, such as financial or childcare issues.

Welfare Rights

The Coundon and Leeholme Community Partnership has set up free Welfare Benefits advice for residents in Coundon and Leeholme. Wear Valley District Council Benefits Service will also be available at some of these sessions to give advice on Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit. The service is ran on an appointment only basis fortnightly on Tuesdays. Dates can be found on the Events Calendar or by ringing 665225. Please use this number to make an appointment.
