Churches Together in Cleadon and South Tyneside
Just across the road from All Saints' is Cleadon Methodist Church and it makes sense to us to worship together twice a month in the evenings.
. Cleadon Churches Together uses both buildings. We also work together in the Parish Network, in "Cantamus" (the name of a little choir); on Good Friday when there is a Village Prayer Walk followed by a Famine Lunch and act of worship, on Remembrance Sunday when, with the Village, we gather at the Cenotaph for an act of remembrance of our war dead and their families and Carols Around the Christmas Tree, also held at the Cenotaph in early December.
. Cleadon All Saints' is active in Cleadon & Whitburn Churches Together. Here, five churches (Cleadon Parish, Cleadon Methodist, Whitburn Parish, Whitburn Methodist and St Gregory's Roman Catholic) pray, work and study together during Lent, at Pentecost, Advent and in the national Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
. Cleadon All Saints' is part of South Tyneside Churches Together. In this it hosts the annual "Prayers for Peace", initiated by this church in collaboration with the Shields Gazette following 9/11. Cleadon All Saints' is also participating in the Happy at Home visiting project and supports the Key Project and STARCH.

All Saints' working in the Community
A Community church All churches have congregations, but CofE, (Church of England) or Anglican churches in England have a spiritual and pastoral responsibility for the people of the parish. All Saints’ is the Parish Church of Cleadon Village with a population in excess of 5000 souls. As part of this:
· A Parish Network aims to ensure a welcome to newcomers to the village. At Christmas and Easter invitation cards are distributed to all households giving details of service times.
· Pupils and teachers at Cleadon CofE Primary School visit the church for worship and for lessons.
· All Saints' Parish Hall and the Old School Room are owned and maintained by the church. It is used by local groups in the community: from Parents & Toddlers (including babies) to Cleadon Lunch Club (including nonagenarians).
· The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is committed to the church building being fully accessible. Its Open Doors Project aims to make this significant local building more accessible to more people more of the time.

All Saints' at work in the Locality
Serving in a Locality As part of a diocesan wide initiative, All Saints Cleadon is working as a ‘locality’ with other neighbouring Anglican churches: St Mary’s Whitburn, St Georges, East Boldon, St Nicholas West Boldon and St Nicholas Hedworth. This link offers participating churches the chance to share resources, expertise and challenges.

All Saints' in the Worldwide Anglican Communion
International Church As well as being active with other local churches, All Saints Cleadon is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. This is expressed in prayer, in financial commitment to supporting Eric & Sandra Read and their children (Peter and Atiyyah), our ‘Mission Partners’ working in the Congo, and in our implementation of policies agreed in the wider church.
Being part of a world-wide church introduces all the riches of different languages, cultures, customs and ways of doing things. It also brings the complexity which can lead to deep disagreements.
