Vietnam Charity Challenge bike ride 24/3/05 to 03/04/05

Peter Howe and his wife Barbara are undertaking this awesome fundraising project for
us and the Youth Cancer Trust.

Their ride, organised by the Charity Challenge group,on provided mountain bikes, will start in the capital city Hanoi in the north and end in
Ho Chi Min City(Saigon)in the south. They will cover more than 450 kms in 7 days.

Having explored Hanoi and its stunning surroundings, they will head to Hue,dominated by majestic temples, ancient tombs and the imperial citadel. It is a town in which time seems to have stopped.
After Hue they will ride to Hoi An,an old trading town from the 16th Century and UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated on the banks of Thu Bon river.
From Hoi An they will cycle along quiet back roads to My Son,which was an imperial city during the Cham dynasty.
The ride continues along the coast via the Marble Mountains to Danang and on to Nha Trang with miles of prime beach.
Finally, they will reach Ho Chi Min City where they can experience Vietnam's largest city and celebrate their achievement.
We wish you good luck and a safe return.

Young daughter of model raises a lot of money in 2005/6.

Vanessa Price was a model in our 2001 and 2004 Fashion Shows. Her daughter Lydia, aged 10yrs,decided that she would like to raise some money for our charity.
Part 1.
So Lydia and her best friend Anna Williams asked the Headmistress of Polam,Mrs Angela Foster, whether the school could help.
It was decided that at the end of each of the 3 Xmas productions they would collect donations from the audience. With the mention of the fact that our charity was 'very close to Lydia's heart'
-the notes poured in.
The total amount raised was £1600!!
Well done all who were involved.
Part 2.
On Sunday 30th April 2006 Lydia did a sponsored swim of 10,000metres (400 lengths) at Richmond Pool which she completed in just over 3hrs!!
Many congratulations to a talented swimmer and a determined young lady.
Amount of money raised to be advised.
